One step forward

I am at last pleased to report a good few days . Chris came out of intensive care before the weekend, he is still very weak and  has a long way to go but it is great to see him off most of the tubes and masks that have been part of every day for quite a while.

We still don’t know anything from Great Ormand Street but I guess the Consultants need to interpret the results before they can tell us if there is anything of significance to tell us. In the meantime the intense daily drug regime continues.

Today he has had the ng tube that has been feeding him for the last month removed and has started to eat a bit of food. I now have the job of encouraging him to eat as many calories as he can manage! Trouble is he says he can’t manage the chocolate so it seems to fall into my mouth !!!

He now has to concentrate on eating drinking and moving, today he has been hoisted into a chair where he remained for about half an hour , but then had to be returned to bed via the hoist again as this seems to exhaust him. I think we are learning to take one day at a time , hoping that this will become a week , then two weeks , then a month.

I am cautious about saying too much but, Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as whoever you have been praying to ……it’s starting to feel like someone may be listening  x
